  • Daycare & boarding include outdoor play, weather permitting. Our outdoor surfaces contain pea gravel & treated concrete. If your dog is not accustomed to those types of surfaces, the gravel may cause irritation to their paws and/or skin until the pads toughen up or their skin becomes acclimated. This will often result in licking and chewing that further aggravates the irritation especially during the night. We recommend that if you see this behavior, put booties or socks on their paws to discourage continued licking. if the behavior becomes severe, it’s a good idea to make a vet appointment to see what they can offer to help you.

  • Unknown allergies sometimes emerge when your dog joins daycare or is boarded with other dogs. Please be aware of this and have your dog vet checked prior to reserving time with us. We are not responsible for skin or paw reactions to products or gravel that occur while your dog is in our care but do our best to observe and notify you in the event we find these instances occur.

  • Irritated paws are NOT caused by chemicals or hot floor surfaces & unless your dog has an unknown allergy, They are the result of running on hard or uneven surfaces frequently or continuously throughout the day. Our play areas are shaded from direct sunlight in most places, and the dogs typically shelter under those shades during hot & steamy days.

  • Please let us know if your dog has any continuous irritation and we will limit the time they spend on pea gravel or place them in our indoor daycare area that has a seal-treated concrete floor.

  • Your dog’s normal behaviors at home can vary greatly when placed in a kennel environment. aggression, fearfulness, incontinence, & nervous response are all very normal for us to witness if your dog is newly boarding or visiting daycare. if we determine that the behaviors are too severe for continued visits or care, we reserve the right to no longer allow daycare or boarding use until training or further acclimation is achieved.

My dog is really parched when they get home, do you provide water?

  • Of course! We have multiple water receptacles in each area for the dogs. Water is refreshed frequently throughout the day. When the dogs leave for the day, they get very excited and will typically pant. When they get home, they may go straight for their water bowl. This is normal behavior and not indicative of a lack of water throughout the day

My dog seems very tired after their stay, why?

  • To ensure that your dog has an enjoyable stay, we offer multiple hours of playtime. If they aren’t used to this constant exercise & enrichment, they will be quite tired upon departure. boarding stays also allow for outdoor play and socialization if available. dogs that board (for the first time or otherwise) can sometimes be extremely tired after pick up. They can display lethargy, thirstiness, loss of appetite, and even anxiety. Please know that these behaviors are normal, and most dogs go back to their happy go lucky selves after a day or two back home.

Do you board cats?

  • K-9 has three separate cat boarding areas, two of those are vip/private rooms that can house up to four cats at once. Our standard kennels house 1 adult cat each, or two-four kittens if it’s a duplex pen. Overall, k-9 can board up to 20 cats at one time. We will provide litter, litter boxes, food & water bowls, toys and bedding. We ask that you bring their own food & inform the staff of the portioning before you leave your cat(s) with us

If my dog can’t be in direct contact with other dogs, what would they be doing during the day?

  • Even if your dog can’t interact with our other guests, they will still receive individual attention from our attendants and time to play indoor and/or outdoors weather permitting.

I picked my dog up from boarding/daycare and they were really dirty & smelly, what gives?

  • Just like us when we play or sport or spend a significant amount of time outside and get sweaty/dirty, so do our dogs. They also play in pea gravel during the day, come in contact with other dogs, may roll or play in the gravel, and/or come in contact with waste before we are able to remove it from their kennel or play areas. We do our best to inspect each dog upon departure, and if they’re particularly dirty, we will give them a quick rinse, or sometimes even a full soapy bath if necessary.

***We HIGHLY recommend you request a departure bath after boarding as your dog will not be bathed unless necessary or requested in advance. Scheduled baths are $27.00 and they are performed on Saturday mornings or immediately before departure as needed.

What vaccinations does my pet need?

  • We require all dogs to be vaccinated for rabies, distemper, and Bordetella. We do require your dog get a 6-month booster for Bordetella unless otherwise advised by your vet. Cats require the Rabies & FVRCP vaccines. We recommend that your cat receive the Feline Leukemia vaccination as well, but it is not required.

*You will need to provide your pet’s vaccination information BEFORE their scheduled appointment(s). We cannot accept your pet for boarding, daycare, or grooming without this information. Our kennel license depends upon having up to date inoculation records for every animal in our care, regardless of service.

Please visit our contact us section to email your documents directly, or you can upload them to our K-9 App!

Are the animals always supervised?

  • Guests are supervised at all times. With that said, we have a very large & segmented facility where incidents can happen very quickly and we nor our cameras will catch everything. We try our best to notice things such as: scratches, injuries, vomiting, or diarrhea, and other abnormalities. we also deescalate fights and/or separate dogs if they’re not getting along. We will always contact you if any serious issues arise and notify you at time of pick up if mild incidents occur that you should be aware of.

Do you offer daycare on the weekends?

  • Weekend daycare hours are on Saturdays from 8-1pm only. sunday we are open from 4-6pm for boarding pick up only.

How far in advance do I need to call for a boarding reservation?

Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Spring Break are the busiest holidays. there is a 50% non-refundable deposit for all holiday boarding reservations.

Do you administer medications during boarding or daycare?

  • Yes! Our staff will chart all the medication info upon arrival. The medication chart will be attached to your pet’s registration card and will contain all of the information that our employees need to administer the drugs. if your pet requires three or more medications at a time during their stay, we do charge an additional fee of $2.50 per day

Do you offer discounts for longer boarding stays?

  • 15-30 day stays receive 10% off the total cost - prepaid

  • 30-45 day stays receive 15% off the total cost - prepaid

  • 46+ days - inquire with management

  • Extended stays do require a 50% non-refundable deposit

Why do we have to reserve a spot for daycare when we never had to before?

  • Over the last year alone, we have gained many new customers, which is extremely exciting for us! Our main priority, however, is the safety of our staff and your dogs, which is why we don’t like to have over a certain number of dogs in each play group. Indoor days we can only take so many dogs for daycare that we feel is a safe number, while outdoor days we can have more as we have more space to thin our play groups out.

How can I reserve a daycare spot for my dog?

  • You can call, email, or reserve online through our client portal as late as the day before or as early as the week before your wanted daycare appointment.

I want to board my dog and they regularly go to daycare; will they still be able to attend daycare during their stay?

  • Yes! Your dog will certainly get daycare time upon request, just as they always have during their stay with us.

How long in advance can I schedule my dog for daycare?

  • You can schedule up to one week in advance. We want to give everyone a chance to bring their dogs in for daycare, and if everyone schedules a month in advance and fills all our spots, we cannot accept any other dogs or new clients. Any reservations made more than one week in advance will not be approved until the week prior.

I want my dog in daycare the morning of boarding drop-off. Can I drop off early to do this?

  • Yes, but please call in advance.
